Farhana Yunus, O.D.

Dr. Farhana YunusDr. Farhana Yunus was born in Union City, New Jersey, and soon after, her family moved to the Northwestern Panhandle of Florida. Being raised in a small town, she took that culture of family and community with her when she went to college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she received a BA in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics. She was actively involved in Student Government and many other organizations. Following her degree, she went on to teach Clinical Nutrition at St. Matthews University Medical School. Dr. Yunus decided to pursue her passion for eye care and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. She was involved in many organizations including the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Yunus is Board Certified through the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is an active member of the American Optometric Association, and the Florida Optometric Association. She has served, as the treasurer of The Volusia Optometric Society, is a member of the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians, and an Optometry Divas Ambassador. Just as each person has a unique pair of eyes, Dr. Yunus understands that each patient will need the right approach to meet their eye care needs, so Dr. Yunus has been trained in a range of modalities including Primary Eye Care, Pediatric Vision, Contact Lens, Low Vision, and Diseases of the eye.

She is a mother of five children, a Girl Scout troop leader, and serves as Juliette Coordinator for the Windsong community of Citrus Council. She loves to travel, is an avid reader, loves horseback riding and kayaking, and completed the Disney full marathon in 2017.

She understands that when people experience blurred vision, eye-related diseases or trauma; they can feel overwhelmed with the uncertainty and fear of vision loss. Her great passion is to bring personalized compassionate eye care to each individual’s unique needs. She helps her patients, who include children, adults, and families, to find comfort in knowing that their complete eye care needs will be in competent caring hands.


Jerry Muscadin

Jerry Muscadin was born in Miami Beach, Florida but was raised in Haiti for most of his life. Family and community have remained as pillars of importance in Jerry’s home and work life. At the University of Florida in Gainesville, Jerry received a BA in Food Science and Human Nutrition. He was actively involved in Student Government and many other organizations in his undergraduate years at Valencia Community College. Following his degree at UF, Jerry pursued a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on management and leadership. His most recent degree was from Rollins College with a Masters in Health Service Administration.

Jerry is a passionate philanthropist with enterprising business acumen. He strongly believes that payment for success is resilience and patience. His passion for philanthropic work came for his many years helping and working in the nonprofit world and serving others. When Dr. Yunus expressed an interest in beginning her own private practice, Jerry knew his background in business, leadership and service made him the perfect person to help open My Eye Care.

As a father of five children, GirlScout volunteer for his daughter and his wife’s troop, president of the board for a religious institution, Jerry still finds time to travel, is an avid reader, loves running, and completed the Disney full marathon in 2017.

Jerry understands the importance of creating a positive and memorable experience. As the practice administrator, he strives to bring a unique, personalized and compassionate patient centric service to meet each individual’s unique needs. He will do his best to make patients feel like family! Dr. Yunus, Jerry and the team look forward to providing patients with quality eyewear with his big heart and caring hands.
